Church and building conversions
Specialist experience in turning unusual buildings into comfortable homes.

Some buildings were never meant to be houses, and we have specialist experience in turning them into comfortable homes. Our flagship project is a former Methodist church at Barnack, turned into a two-bedroom home.
A conversion starts with the building: its windows, its height, its walls. At Barnack the arched windows with their stained glass, and the height of the roof, are still there, and the home was planned around them. We worked closely with the client from the first drawings through to completion.
The same approach suits other unusual buildings. We guide you through planning and any extra consents, and work with your architect and planning consultants, so that everything is in place before work starts.

A Methodist church, now a home.
Questions we are asked
Do you only convert churches?
No. The Methodist church at Barnack is our flagship conversion, but we have specialist experience in turning other unusual buildings into comfortable homes too.
Does converting a building need consent?
Almost always. A change of use needs planning permission, and a listed building or one in a conservation area needs further consent. We guide you through the process and work with architects and planning consultants, so that everything is in place before work starts.
Can you keep a building’s original features?
That is where a conversion starts. At Barnack the arched windows with their stained glass, and the height of the roof, are still there, and the home was planned around them.
Where we convert.
In Rutland, Stamford and around Peterborough. Choose your area to see what we have done there.
