At Wansford the brief was an outdoor kitchen and dining area. It came together with a landscape designer and repeat clients, and the stone walls, steps and terrace are as much a part of it as the kitchen.
We build garden walls and terraces with the same hands-on approach as the houses: one person coordinating the trades, and regular meetings until it is finished.

Do you design the garden?
At Wansford we built an outdoor kitchen and terrace to a landscape designer’s plan, working with the designer and the client together and refining the details as we went. We can work to your designer’s drawings in the same way.
Do I need planning permission for a patio, a wall or an outdoor kitchen?
Often not for paving at ordinary ground level, but a raised terrace, a tall wall or a covered building may need permission, and conservation areas and listed buildings have extra rules. Your council has the final word, and we will tell you what we think applies before we quote.
Can you build a kitchen outdoors?
Yes. The one at Wansford has a timber pergola over a pizza oven and a built-in grill, on a raised stone terrace with steps down to the lawn.
